An SPL meter is a sound pressure level meter. It is used to calibrate audio systems. Sound pressure is measured in decibels (dB). Like a temperature scale, the decibel scale goes below zero.
Sound nuisance can lead to insomnia and poor health
Sound nuisance used to be limited to the neighbours playing loud music at night and being told off. However these days there are many other types of sound nuisance such as industrial, transportation and even just the general hub of noise from large crowds.
